Come see the Bahamas!

on

The Bahamas in this case is a Jubilee Class locomotive! Seen here on a recent ‘Steam Special’ to North Wales and other parts of the U.K. The superb picture, courtesy of Mr N Kneale, was taken near Bryn Tawel, between the George Hostel and Menai Bridge. Built in 1935 the engine clocked up 1.5 million miles before being ‘retired’. Weighing about 90 tons and tremendously powerful the engines were named after Admirals, places in Canada and islands in the West Indies.
