What’s happening to the Bowling Green Shelter? Why has it been fenced off for so long? It’s important. Come along to the Bowling Green Pavilion on Saturday 9th March 2024, between 10a.m.- 1.00 p.m. and tell the Town Council what you want. The Civic Society thinks it should be restored. What’s on in February 2024 ?

Illustrated talk by Nigel Beidas about the Sheepfolds of the Carneddi. Thursday, 8th February 2024. Starts at 2.30 p.m. Refreshments from 2.00.pm. in the War Memorial Community Centre, Water Street, Menai Bridge. All welcome.

Where was it?

The road has been widened but the stone structure on the right remains. This structure supported a footbridge from one side of Craig y Don gardens to the other; removed in 1924(?) Craig y Don, once the site of the home of Twm Chwarateg is on the Menai Bridge side of Plas Rhianfa.

Early morning at Ynys Faelog

Early morning visit to Ynys Faelog to put up notices so we can register the footpath as a Public Footpath. Beautiful area that the people of Menai Bridge have used and enjoyed for generations – let’s keep it that way! Bonus to see an Egret and Oystercatchers too.
